Shipping & Processing Times

📦 Orders are typically processed and shipped within 1-2 business days of order placement.

🚨 Notice of Seasonal Delays: During peak months (Oct–Jan), allow 1-2 extra business days for processing.

🚚 We ship all orders for 1-2 day transit. We ship orders Monday – Wednesday for 1- or 2-day transit using UPS Ground or 2-Day Air, depending on your location and the method needed to arrive within 2 days. For NC orders only, we also ship on Thursdays for 1-day transit.

📩 You’ll receive a tracking number via email once your order ships.

🚨 Weather & Carrier Delays: Joyce Farms is not responsible for shipping delays due to severe weather, natural disasters, or carrier disruptions. Once the package is with the carrier (UPS), we are unable to guarantee assistance handling these disruptions. Please plan your order timing accordingly.

Policy on Requesting Future Shipment Dates

🗓️ You may request delayed shipping by making a notation on your order from the Shopping Cart page, before you continue to checkout. This option is not available for certain seasonal products or on orders placed between September 1st - December 31st.


Where We Ship

✅ We ship to the contiguous 48 U.S. states.

❌ No shipping to:

  • Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • P.O. Boxes, A.P.O., or F.P.O. addresses.

Shipping Costs and Estimated Delivery Timing

💰 Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and carrier rates. The rate that you are quoted is based on weight and size of order and your location. We pass on real-time UPS rates, and the rate you see at checkout is the same cost we pay to ship your order.

⏳ Delivery timeframes are estimates, not guarantees. Joyce Farms is not responsible for carrier delays due to weather or other disruptions.


Safe Shipping & Packaging

At Joyce Farms, we take every precaution to ensure your order arrives in safe, optimal condition, meeting USDA mail-order food safety guidelines.

📦 Packing Standards for Safe Delivery

Every order is carefully packed to maintain safe temperatures during transit:

  • ✅ Each order is placed in a recyclable shipping box with styrofoam lining inserts to maintain safe temperatures.
  • Dry ice and/or reusable gel packs are used to keep items cold.
  • Empty dry ice packs are normal and expected upon delivery.
  • ✅ Products may begin to defrost during shipment. As long as they are still partially frozen, you can safely refreeze them.
  • ✅Once you receive your package, refer to the safe handling instructions included with your shipment.

❄️ Food Safety Upon Arrival

Per USDA guidelines, your order should arrive:

  • Frozen or partially frozen, with ice crystals still visible
  • Or at least refrigerator cold—below 40°F
🔍 Important: If your items are cold to the touch (below 40°F), they are safe to store in the refrigerator or refreeze immediately.

Delayed Deliveries - What To Do:

🔍 Check your tracking number for updates.

📦 If marked delivered but missing, check around your property & with neighbors.

⏳ If no tracking update within 24 hours of expected delivery, contact us.

⚠️ Weather-Related Delays: Joyce Farms is not responsible for carrier delays due to weather. If a package is missing or severely delayed, we will assist in tracking if possible, but refunds/reshipments are not guaranteed.


Quality Concerns Upon Delivery - What To Do

🛑 If you believe your order is spoiled or unsafe:

  • Check the temperature: Items should arrive cold to the touch (below 40°F).
  • If you suspect it is unsafe, DO NOT consume—take clear photos of:
    1. The box & packaging as received.
    2. The affected product(s) & labels.
    3. Any temperature readings (if available).
  • 📩 Contact us within 24 hours.


Refunds, Replacements & Cancellations

Due to the perishable nature of our products, we do not accept returns.

🔹 Every fulfillment step of your order is carefully completed by hand to ensure your order arrives just the way you ordered it. However, in the unusual event you believe there was an error in your order (such as a missing or incorrect item), please contact us within 24 hours of delivery.

Refunds are only issued for approved claims related to quality, food safety, or Joyce Farms error.

📸 For any claims, please be ready to provide:

  • Photos of the package as received
  • Photos of the specific products related to the complaint, including labels
  • Your order number or email address used to place the order

🔹 If for any reason you need to cancel or modify your order, please contact us immediately. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but we cannot guarantee a refund for any orders canceled or changed after they are placed due to the perishable nature of our products.

❌ Refused or returned orders that have not been approved by our team will not be refunded.


Holiday Shipping Schedule and Observed Closures

📆 Orders placed within one week of a holiday or observed closure date may require additional processing time.

Local Pickup in Winston-Salem, NC

For customers who live nearby, we offer local pickup at our plant location.

✅ Orders must be placed online at least 2 business days in advance.

✅ We will hold your order for 2 days after your originally scheduled pickup date. If not picked up, your order will be canceled.

✅ Pickup orders must be collected within 2 days of your scheduled pickup date.
